Client: National Credit Card Provider

Challenge: 

  • Convert TPF 3270 map screens to a browser base presentation  
  • Rewrite the original software (written in IBM370 Assembler language) in C++
  • Manage the project on a time critical timeline with several quality assurance check points
  • Move an entire system onto a new platform with no disruption to the 81 million  transactions being made daily 

Solution: 

  • Brought in developers who were knowledgeable in both code languages (C++ and TPF Assembler) to maximize efficiency by limiting the team members required
  • Hired a project manager who acted as a business analyst, providing business design and analysis
  • Documented process flow and design plans prior to beginning work; then systematically crosschecked our design in each phase to ensure perfection at each milestone 
  • Kept in constant communication with the provider’s project manager to ensure a smooth working process
